Details On New Tomb Raider & The Lord Of The Rings Game Are ‘Not Too Far Away,’ Says Amazon Games Exec

The vice president of Amazon Games has said that details on the company’s upcoming Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings titles isn’t too far off.

Christoph Hartman was asked during an interview with Variety when the company would be issuing more info on the two project. In response, he said indicated we won’t have to wait too long, but noted the company isn’t in the habit of rushing things.

It’s not going to be tomorrow, but it’s not too far away. As I said, we’re getting into a much more regular cadence of shipping games. That’s all I’m allowed to tell you right now. It’s all about quality. You don’t want to just be rushed out. That’s doesn’t work. It has to be triple-A quality, because the bar is so high.

Amazon Games had previously confirmed that New World developer Orange County will be leading development of the Lord of the Rings title, which is set to take the form of a Massively Multiplayer Online project. Meanwhile, the new Tomb Raider game is confirmed to be a single-player, narrative-driven adventure, which puts it in line with the previous series entries.
