Epic Games Seems to be Working Hard to Tackle Hackers and Cheaters on PC: Report

The gaming world has changed drastically since the arrival of multiplayer online titles. These games allow players to play with or against their friends or anyone in the world, expanding the reach exponentially. Players are also highly motivated as they are given a chance to prove their mettle in front of new people every single time they play the game.

Playing online games with friends is a fantastic experience, but sometimes it can get hampered too. One of the main reasons for that is hackers and cheaters. Creating cheats and hacks for games that do not affect any other player’s gameplay is considered to be well and good by some. But the problem arises when these cheats and hacks infiltrate online titles, spoiling fellow players’ gaming experience.

Epic Games is one of the organisations that has been hard at work in order to tackle these hackers and cheaters. It is also their duty to do so as they have many popular online multiplayer titles under their belt, Fortnite being the most popular of the lot. A popular Fortnite leaker, ShiinaBR has just posted a tweet that consists of Epic’s new measure to take down the cheaters.

According to the report, Epic will be incorporating a software that will remove players that use tools in order to conceal or alter their device’s hardware IDs. On the first go, the players will only be removed from the match. However, if they continue to try to conceal their hardware IDs or try to bypass the restrictions, they will receive a permanent ban from Fortnite.

For the curious players, hardware IDs are used to track parts of the computer you use by Epic. This method is used so that a banned player cannot start playing Fortnite just by creating a new Epic account. Therefore, if banned players wish to play Fortnite, then they will have to spend more money and change their PC setup.
