Minecraft Shows Off New Cherry Blossom Biome & Sniffer Mob from 1.20 Update in Trailers

Minecraft’s major upcoming update 1.20 will include a brand-new Cherry Blossom biome and the new Sniffer mob, and Mojang revealed two trailers to show them off.

The Cherry Blossom biome will bring all the pink you may want in a lovely forest of cherry trees, on top of its own building set that trades off realism (Cherry wood isn’t pink, obviously) for a lot of cuteness to inject into your builds.

The Sniffer is an ancient mob that was believed extinct, but with the new update (which doesn’t yet have a name or a release window), players will be able to revive it via its eggs discovered via the new Archaeology feature. Once grown, it can literally “sniff” seed of unique decorative plants that you can use to enrich your base.

You can watch the two trailers below.

If you’re not familiar with Minecraft, it’s a massively-popular sandbox game currently published by Microsoft following its acquisition of Mojang on pretty literally every platform with a chip inside. I’d list them for you, but I’ve honestly lost count. The latest major patch, The Wild Update, was released a few months ago, and we’re still waiting for additional information on 1.20, which was introduced in October at Minecraft Live.

We’re also waiting for its younger brother, Minecraft Legends, which isn’t a sandbox game. Yet, it brings back the world, the characters, and the aesthetic for a charming action real-time-strategy game. It’s coming for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 18, 2023. Of course, it’ll also be included on Game Pass.
