Renesas and Tata to develop semiconductors in IndiaTata Consultancy Services and Renesas Electronics are to collaborate on radio frequency, digital and mixed-signal design, and software development, in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. “The innovation centre will combine TCS’ expertise in IoT, and knowledge of the manufacturing, telecom and automotive industries, with Renesas’ semiconductor designs and embedded software support,” according to Renesas. “By joining hands and leveraging their strengths, the partners intend to launch semiconductor designs and software solutions for the IoT, smart cities, industrial and automotive segments.”

4. Huawei cools on Cambridge R&D schemeHuawei has gone to ground on its plans to build a £1 billion optoelectronics R&D centre at Sawston near Cambridge, reports the Telegraph. South Cambridgeshire councillors are reported to be saying their requests for information have not been answered. Huawei bought the Cambridge site for £37m in 2018. Planning permission was issued in 2018.
