Overwatch 2 Season 7 Reveals Diablo 4 Crossover, Tons of Skins, New Map, & Hero Reworks

Blizzard has revealed the content coming with the next season of Overwatch 2, which is the 7th since the launch of the second iteration of the hero shooter.

The new season is titled “Rise of Darkness” and as you can imagine, it’s largely Halloween-themed.

First of all, we are getting a crossover with Diablo 4, which was teased a few days ago. It includes several event skins like Lilith Moira, Inarius Pharah, Imperius Reinhardt, and Azmodan Wreckingball.

There will also be a full-fledged game mode titled Trials of Sanctuary.

We’ll also get a new control map, Samoa, featuring tropical locales and beautiful resorts among the palm trees.

Sombra is getting a rework at the beginning of the season, while Roadhog gets his own later in the calendar.

Onryo Hanzo Mythic Skin in Overwatch 2

Speaking of skins, Hanzo is getting a mythic one named Onryo Hanzo, while a whopping 17 themed after Halloween are in the shop and scattered across the new battle pass

A few older Halloween game modes will also be reinstated, Junkenstein’s Revenge and Junkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Wife.

You can see all the new elements in the trailer below.

Season 7 “Rise of Darkness” will be released on October 10 across all platforms that host Overwatch 2, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S Xbox One, and PC.

While Blizzard has canceled plans for extensive story content that had been teased since before the launch of the game, lately, we’ve seen a series of shorts providing more narrative insight, showcasing the origins of Overwatch itself and the recent PvE content Invasion.
