EA Sports FC 24 to Get Free Euro 2024 Update Next Year

[ad_1]

EA Sports FC 24 is getting a big free Euro 2024 update next year to coincide with the start of the football tournament.

EA said the Euro 2024 update is set for EA Sports FC 24, EA Sports FC Mobile, and EA Sports FC Online in the summer of 2024. For FC 24, that’s across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

EA said those who play FC 24 by January 16, 2024, get “one of Europe’s biggest stars” as an untradeable Ultimate Team player item starting December 18. The item is one of six players:

Jack Grealish – EnglandOusmane Dembélé – FranceFederico Chiesa – ItalyFlorian Wirtz – GermanyVirgil Van Djik – NetherlandsAlvaro Morata – Spain

Last year EA Sports ended its partnership with FIFA, putting an end to its long-running FIFA football video game series. Its first non-FIFA game, EA Sports FC 24, launched in September. But EA is free to do deals with UEFA, which runs the Euro national team tournament as well as European club competitions, such as the Champions League.

FC 24’s launch arrived with a number of controversies. The community reacted in shock to a $30 Ultimate Team pack that was made available to buy before the game even properly launched. And just this week, FC 24 players accused EA Sports of shoving the game’s more expensive loot boxes (Ultimate Team packs) into a more prominent position within the in-game store after the developer announced it had changed the Ultimate Team store to offer “a more curated experience”.
