Truffle oil is something that can be produced from the comfort of your home.

Although the process is quite simple, it does require some prerequisites before you can produce your first bottle.

The first and foremost thing you require is, of course, truffles.

As we mentioned above, your main source of truffles will be your farm pigs. But you can also forage them from the secret forest. But let’s focus on the main source for now.

Foraging Truffles through Pigs

To purchase and breed pigs at your farm, you are required to upgrade your barn to the max level.

If built from scratch, the total cost of a deluxe barn will be:

43,000 Gold

350x Wood

650x Stone

After this, the option for purchasing pigs will become available at Marnie’s Ranch.

You can buy a pig for 16,000g.

Now that you have some pigs under your care, it is time you will start finding truffles around your land as pigs (when set out in the open) tend to dig out truffles 1-3 times per day.

The number depends on their happiness level which you can keep up with good ranching practices.

Note: Since Pigs will only dig out truffles out in the open, you can not forage truffles in snow or rain, as pigs tend to stay inside in these weathers.

Crafting Oil Maker

Once you have got your hands on some truffles, your next objective is to get an Oil Maker.

This machine can be crafted from your crafting tab and requires the following materials:

50x Slime

20x Hardwood

1 Gold bar

You can find slime by killing the green slimes in the mines, you should make sure to equip yourself with armor and a sword before undertaking this endeavor.

While you are at it you might as well bring your handy pickaxe out and mine for the Gold bar you need.

Hardwood is dropped from larger tree trunks as you chop them down.

Note: You can only craft the Oil Maker after reaching at least Farming level 8. So if you are still below that, you can either work your way up or read about selling raw truffles below.

Selling Raw Truffles

Some of you might not have reached Farming level 8 yet, but do not be disheartened as you can still make some serious cash through selling truffles raw.

Yes, it might seem like a waste of truffles, but these selling prices will change your mind.

The selling price of a raw truffle depends on its quality.

There are a total of 4 quality ratings, listed below with their selling prices:

Normal –  625g

Silver – 781g

Gold – 937g

Iridium – 1250g

As you can see Iridium quality truffles sell for even more gold than a bottle of truffle oil.

This should encourage you to forage truffles even when you can not produce truffle oil yet.

As raw truffles can still help you sustain a significant income.
