Vivo is preparing to introduce the Vivo S17e, a new addition to their S series that is rumored to be a mid-range smartphone. Prior to its official launch, the device was leaked, revealing crucial details such as specifications and pricing information.
Interestingly, the company listed the device on its official website today, but promptly removed it, leading to speculation that the listing may have been accidental.
Vivo S17e Official Listing
The leak comes from ITHome which reports Digital Chat Station as the source of the upcoming Vivo S17e.
According to its official listing, the Vivo S17e will have a 6.78-inch OLED display with a center punch-hole camera cut-out. The panel will have a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The device will be 7.4mm thick and feature a thin profile.
Driving the device will be a Dimensity 7200 SoC, and it will be available in three configurations with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, namely 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB.
The Vivo S17e will also come equipped with a 4,600mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. As for the camera setup, the phone is rumored to have a 64MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary camera, with a 32MP front-facing selfie snapper.
The Vivo S17e is also expected to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, as well as 5G network connectivity.
As per its official listing, the phone will be priced at CNY 2499, which is roughly ₹29,500. The device is expected to be launched soon in India and may later become available in other regions.
For comparison, as per Chinese tipster DCS, the upcoming Vivo S17 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G SoC, while the Vivo S17 Pro will feature the Dimensity 8200 processor.
In terms of display, both devices are expected to feature a 1.5K resolution display supplied by BOE with curved edges. However, the tipster did not provide any information regarding the exact size of the display.
Vivo S17 Series: When Will It Launch?
According to reports, the Vivo S17 series is expected to launch in China in May, with open sales starting in June, coinciding with China’s 618 shopping festival.
The S17 series is expected to include three models – the Vivo S17e (model number V2285A), the Vivo S17 (model number V2283A), and the Vivo S17 Pro (model number V2284A).
