Warner Bros. Discovery Quarterly Earnings Take A Hit Due To ‘Disappointing Release Of Suicide Squad,’ Says CEO David Zaslav

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, has said during the company’s earnings call this morning that the publisher’s financials suffered this quarter due to the “disappointing release of Suicide Squad,” according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.

This isn’t the first time that Warner Bros. Discovery has expressed disappointment over the performance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Back in February of this year, the company’s chief financial officer revealed that the title had “fallen short of our expectations” during a financial call.

Exact sales numbers for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League haven’t been divulged yet, but it’s safe to assume it hasn’t exactly set tills alight. The game’s launch was marred by negativity as it is, with fans of developer Rocksteady disappointed in the game taking a live service approach rather than the traditional triple-A single-player offline experience the studio is known for.
